Professor Adrian David Cheok AM FIET FIEAust FRSA has been formally elected as a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) — one of the world’s largest and most respected professional engineering organisations.

Election to Fellowship is the IET’s highest grade of membership, reserved for individuals who have demonstrated sustained excellence, innovation, and leadership in engineering and technology. This honour acknowledges Professor Cheok’s pioneering global research across artificial intelligence, mixed reality, robotics, and human–machine communication, and his outstanding contributions to advancing the international engineering community.

“To be recognised by the IET as a Fellow is both humbling and inspiring,” said Professor Cheok. “It represents decades of work dedicated to the fusion of art, science, and technology — and to mentoring the next generation of creative engineers.”

Professor Adrian David Cheok AM FIEAust FIET FRSA has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia — one of the nation’s highest professional honours in the field of engineering.

Fellowship is reserved for engineers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and service to the profession. This prestigious recognition reflects Professor Cheok’s lifelong contributions to electrical engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, and human–machine interaction, as well as his global influence as an educator and innovator.

“To be recognised by Engineers Australia, my home country’s foremost engineering institution, is deeply meaningful,” said Professor Cheok. “This Fellowship symbolises a full-circle journey — from my beginnings as a young engineer in Adelaide to decades of international work in
research, education, and invention.”

Professor Adrian David Cheok AM FIET FIEAust FRSA has been appointed as a Fellow Assessor for the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) — one of the world’s largest and most prestigious professional engineering bodies.

As a Fellow Assessor, Professor Cheok contributes to upholding the IET’s rigorous standards of professional excellence by evaluating applications for Fellowship — the highest level of membership awarded to engineers, technologists, and innovators who have made exceptional contributions to their fields.

This appointment reflects Professor Cheok’s international reputation for pioneering research in AI, robotics, mixed reality, and human–computer interaction, as well as his commitment to mentoring and advancing the global engineering community.
