Professor Adrian David Cheok AM FIEAust FIET FRSA has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia — one of the nation’s highest professional honours in the field of engineering.

Fellowship is reserved for engineers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and service to the profession. This prestigious recognition reflects Professor Cheok’s lifelong contributions to electrical engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, and human–machine interaction, as well as his global influence as an educator and innovator.

“To be recognised by Engineers Australia, my home country’s foremost engineering institution, is deeply meaningful,” said Professor Cheok. “This Fellowship symbolises a full-circle journey — from my beginnings as a young engineer in Adelaide to decades of international work in
research, education, and invention.”
